LSU men’s basketball coach Trent Johnson announced earlier today that forward Garrett Green will redshirt this season.Green has missed almost all of team practice since mid-October with lower back problems. Men’s basketball trainer Shawn Eddy said the Woodland Hills, Calif., native was having “continued discomfort” in his back and was “unable to sustain the day-to-day regiment.””Garrett just hasn’t gotten better,” Johnson said in a news release. “We are going to miss him this season … He will continue to rehabiliate, and we will get him ready for next season when he will be a big help for us inside.”Green played in 25 games last season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
