Gov. Bobby Jindal has named a member of a prominent shipbuilding family as the new chairman of Louisiana’s top higher education board.Charlotte Bollinger, the executive vice president of Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, will now chair the Louisiana Board of Regents.She replaces Pat Strong of Franklin, who has been chairman for two years.The governor reappointed board members Roland Toups of Baton Rouge and Bubba Rasberry of Shreveport.Bollinger’s brother — Bollinger Shipyards CEO and Chairman Donald “Boysie” Bollinger — is a strong advocate of expanding technical college training.
