LSU senior guard Herman Johnson was named a First-Team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday.Johnson is the first LSU offensive lineman in 11 years to earn first-team honors when Alan Faneca was named to the 1997 All-American team.”This is a well deserved honor for Herman,” LSU coach Les Miles said in a news release. “Herman is a tremendous football player who plays a huge role on this team, both on and off the field. If they gave an All-America award for a person’s character, values and integrity, Herman would be on that list as well.”He’s a team leader in every sense of the word and someone who I have enjoyed coaching over the past four years.”Johnson will also earn his general studies degree later this week.
