Student arrested for DWI
LSUPD arrested Brian Barr, general studies student of 902 Kirby Place, Shreveport, for allegedly driving under the influence.
Maj. Lawrence Rabalais, LSUPD spokesman, said Barr was going 37 mph in a 20 mph zone on Dalrymple Drive on Wednesday at 3:21 a.m.
Rabalais said officers detected a smell of alcohol on Barr and administered a field sobriety test.
Rabalais said Barr refused a breathalyzer.
Barr was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Two arrested for possession of marijuana
LSUPD arrested two people in connection with marijuana possession on April 20.
Brian Waters, of 1914 Honeysuckle Lane, Sulpher, was arrested for counts of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Derrek Mart, biological science sophomore of 25 Mulberry Rd. Sulpher, was arrested for counts of simple possession of marijuana.
Rabalais said the two were seen in a vehicle outside the Lambda Chi house.
Officers searched Waters’ vehicle and found two bags of marijuana. Officers also found a backpack containing several small bags of marijuana and cash.
Rabalais said Waters admitted the marijuana in the car was his.
Waters was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Mart was issued a misdemeanor summons.
Two students arrested on drug charges in residence hall
LSUPD arrested two students in Pentagon Hall on April 20 for possession of marijuana.
LSUPD arrested Alexandra Micas, biological sciences freshman, of 504 Carnation Avenue, Metairie, for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They also arrested Eric Hargrove, civil engineering freshman, of 137 Rex Drive, River Ridge, for possession of marijuana.
Rabalais said a Residential Life employee told officers the two had marijuana in their possession.
Rabalais said a Residence Assistant gave officers a bag of marijuana that had been found in the room.
Rabalais said Micas admitted to possessing the marijuana.
They were both issued misdemeanor summons.
Law professor arrested on DWI CHARGES
A University law professor was booked with a DWI by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office Friday.
Michael Mcauley, 53, was booked into parish prison on a count of driving while intoxicated and failure to maintain control of his vehicle.
According to East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s office, Mcauley was one of seven people booked with DWI charges on Friday.
Mcauley came to the University in 2001 and before the charge had announced that he will not return in the fall.
The office confirmed Mcauley was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
Mcauley denied to comment.
