I spend every Friday night in Tigerland at my favorite bar: Fred’s.
This notorious moose, Fred, is known for the Friday night bash he calls “Ladies Night.” Now, because of the CCCC’s recent decision, Fred’s party will be a little different.
But don’t worry; I’m not going anywhere else.
I’ve already told you about my idea of a pick-up line – the ball tap. But each “Freddie Friday,” I discover a new and even stranger pick-up line.
Last week, my favorite one was, “Girl, how often do you work out?” My response, of course, was “never” because I’m one of the laziest people you’ll ever meet. The guy pretended to be surprised.
Please. Do not act like I look like I go to the gym.
I didn’t have much time to react to the gym guy because someone grabbed my shoulder and pulled me to the bar.
This man, I’ll call him Rico, bluntly said, “we’re taking shots.”
“Um, OK.”
He shoved $40 in my direction. It’s a known fact that after midnight, Fred sells his shots for $1. I’m not good at math, but I do know two shots costs less than $40.
Sorry Rico, money doesn’t buy my love.
I bolted for the bathroom, only now I wish I would’ve snatched the money.
It’s not that I’m totally turned off by all the men in Tigerland, but let it go, guys. It would be hypocritical of me to say I would never date someone in a bar because I never miss a Friday night at Fred’s.
But guys need to understand that girls go out for a completely different reason than they do.
When I get dressed up and head out with my girlfriends, I’m not looking for a man. I’m looking for a drink and a song to dance to.
Guys, on the other hand, are looking for the ladies. There’s nothing wrong with that. I’m sure there are some girls in dire need of a one-night stand.
But the majority of us are out for a good time – to dance with our friends and kick off the weekend.
It doesn’t matter if I’m single or not; I’ve never gone out looking for a man to spend my night with.
I’m coming off a little harsh. I do like talking to the men I meet out and sometimes dancing with them. But for the sake of us ladies, take a hint.
If things really aren’t going well, don’t push it.
I have a great time every Freddie Friday, and I hope everyone else does too. If you meet someone out, don’t write them off.
But please, guys, understand that most of us girls are out to relax and enjoy ourselves – if things change, then so be it.
Until then, Fred is my main man.
