On August 28, 2005, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Louisiana Superdome’s roof – damaging 70 to 80 percent of the stadium’s interior and raising questions about the future of the iconic structure.
But on the one year anniversary of the hurricane, the Dome is in the final stages of its $185 million restoration project as it nears its Monday Night Football re-opening Sept. 25.
