LSU women’s basketball coach Pokey Chatman announced her resignation Wednesday through a statement released on lsusports.net.
Chatman said she is resigning to “pursue other career opportunities” but will retain her post through the NCAA tournament.
In an lsusports.net statement, Athletic Director Skip Bertman expressed support for Chatman and said he will “respect the decision” she made.
Chatman said she will remain on contract through April 30. Chatman’s contract was originally slated to run through June 30, 2009.
In the lsusports.net release, both Chatman and Bertman said they will not comment or answer additional questions regarding the resignation.
