Gov. Kathleen Blanco announced at a press conference Monday night she would not enter the governor’s race.
“I have decided I will not seek reelection as your governor,” Blanco said.
Blanco asked the citizens of Louisiana for their “prayers and support” in hopes it will help unite the state during a time of rebuilding.
Blanco received heavy criticism for the way she handled the effects of Hurricane Katrina.
