A car traveling inbound on Western Boulevard hit a young girl around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night, according to Sgt. R.G. Strickland of the Raleigh Police Department.
Emergency units transported the girl immediately to WakeMed. Her condition was unknown at press time.
According to Strickland, the girl ran across the street toward Papa Lou’s restaurant, when the car hit her. No injuries were sustained by those in the car, and no other accidents occurred as a result of the collision.
“There was no indication of speed or alcohol were involved,” Strickland said.
Family members of the girl were with her when the car hit her, and they accompanied her to the hospital.
All four lanes of Western traveling into Raleigh were shut down for about 20 minutes, according to Strickland, while Raleigh Police investigated the scene.
Two of the lanes opened back up at 10:45 p.m., while the other two were still closed at 11:30 p.m.
