Former WNBA Houston Comets coach Van Chancellor will be the new LSU women’s basketball coach, according to an ESPN.com report citing an unnamed LSU athletic official.
Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette told The Daily Reveille there will be a 3 p.m. press conference today in the Athletic Administration Building to announce a new women’s basketball coach. Bonnette said he would not confirm if Chancellor is the new hire.
Chancellor would replace former women’s basketball coach Pokey Chatman, who resigned in early March amid allegations of inappropriate conduct with a former player.
