Students, faculty and staff should expect a delay in receiving their parking permits for the fall semester.
The mailing date for the permits has been delayed because of problems at the manufacturing plant in Fort Smith, Arkansas, according to a broadcast e-mail sent Tuesday by the Office of Parking, Traffic and Transportation.
The permits, which were supposed to be mailed starting Aug. 10, will still be mailed to home addresses. Drivers will have until Sept. 10 to obtain and display their permits. They will not be penalized before that day as long as they are legally parked and obey Easy Streets restrictions.
Any driver who has not already ordered their permits or chose to pay through payroll deduction can pick up permits from the Office of Parking, Traffic and Transportation beginning Aug. 21.
