Smoking LSU sports fans will have to call it quits, according to a recent release by the LSU Athletic Department.
Because of a recent statewide ban in public facilities, smoking will be prohibited in the University’s athletic facilities, including Tiger Stadium.
The Louisiana Smoke Free Air Act, which became active this past January, applies to any public building owned by the state. All of these facilities are considered public buildings.
Although smoking was prohibited in the seating sector of the stadium, smoking was permitted in the concourse areas. Now, smoking won’t be permitted in those spots.
In addition to Tiger Stadium, smoking will be prohibited from Alex Box Stadium, Tiger Park, the LSU Soccer Complex, Bernie Moore Track Stadium and Dub Robinson Tennis Stadium too.
