The Susan G. Komen 2009 Race for the Cure will be held Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. with the race day registration at the University old front nine. The five kilometer run/walk will begin at 9 a.m. Registration fees vary from $5 for the sleep in for the cure, to $27 for a timed runner who is eligible for an award. Registration information can be found on the Komen Baton Rouge Website.
The proceeds from the 2008 event went toward breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs in the area.
