LSU junior guard Allison Hightower is one of seven players selected to the State Farm Coaches’ Region III All-America Team, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced Tuesday.Hightower is one of 52 regional finalists from eight regions in the nation.The Arlington, Texas, native is on pace to be the first LSU player in school history to lead the team in points (14.3 per game), assists (2.9), steals (1.9) and blocks (1.3) in a season.Hightower is a first-team All-Southeastern Conference selection, and she reached double figures in scoring in 24 of 28 games this season.The 52 regional finalists will be cut to 40 on March 25, and those 40 will have a chance to be named to the 10-member State Farm Coaches’ All-America Basketball Team.—-Contact Rachel Whittaker at [email protected]
