Former LSU linebacker and current Dallas Cowboy Bradie James spoke to a crowd Thursday afternoon at Walk On’s in preparation of the second annual Etta James Memorial Gymnastics Meet on Saturday at the PMAC. James’ breast cancer awareness foundation, Foundation 56, is sponsoring the meet.James said he wanted his foundation to have an effect on the Baton Rouge and LSU communities.”When my mom lost her battle with breast cancer, the LSU community stepped up,” James said. “I wanted to start something here to show my gratitude and really give back to this community as best I could.”When the subject of wide receiver Terrell Owens’ release was brought up, James did not shy away from showing his surprise and displeasure.Owens was released by the Cowboys late Wednesday night after three seasons in Dallas, according to ESPN.”I’m just disappointed because we didn’t see that coming,” James said. “He’s a good friend of mine and one of the best teammates I’ve had.”But the main focus of the day was on the meet and Foundation 56. James encouraged everyone to come out to the PMAC Saturday at 6 p.m. to see No. 11 LSU take on North Carolina State.”Everybody out there — bring everyone you know,” James said.
