BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) — President Obama’s stimulus bill provides more than $50 million for military bases across Louisiana, according to Sen. Mary Landrieu.
In a news release, Landrieu says the projects will repair and modernize Louisiana military facilities for active duty, national guard and reserve troops. She adds that the funding will improve quality of life for service members at bases including at Fort Polk, Camp Beauregard, Belle Chasse and Barksdale.
Barksdale Air Force Base, for example, will get more than $14 million for a wide range of maintenance projects, including new water lines and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.—-Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
