It’s as though something is in the air at the start of the LSU football team’s spring practice. It’s only the second day of practice and players are walking around with huge grins and obvious signs of excitement about being back into the football atmosphere. “If you’ve been out there, you’ll see it’s a good vibe,” said rising junior linebacker Kelvin Sheppard. “It’s just a new vibe to everybody. Everybody has a little bit more of a pip to their step.” Rising junior wide receiver Terrance Toliver said he’s been looking forward to getting back to practice every day and proving he deserves to be a key part of the offense. “I’m very enthused coming into this spring,” Toliver said. “I’ve just been thinking about it and dreaming about it. I just know it’s my time to step up and make some plays.” After going 8-5 last season and finishing unranked, most of the Tigers said they are ready to get back to being a top team in the nation. “Even though we had a big win for the Chick-fil-A Bowl game, with us being on a championship team, anything less than a championship was tough to swallow,” said rising junior defensive tackle Drake Nevis.
