The University Student Dietetic Association is working to provide families in need with shakers of dried herbs and spices, according to a University news release. The goal is to collect plastic shakers of dried herbs, spices and salt substitutes that can be stored safely for extended periods of time. The drive is in conjunction with a nutrition class in the School of Human Ecology that is working to develop recipes to enhance the flavor of foods typically found in food banks.Donations can be left in a collection bin located in the Human Ecology building or the Corporate Boulevard location of Whole Foods Market throughout the month, according to the release.Inquiries can be directed to Brandi Milioto at [email protected].——Contact Lindsey Meaux at [email protected]
