Prized high school running back Bryce Brown chose to sign with Tennessee in front of family and friends at the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame this afternoon. Brown finally signed his national letter of intent after a drawn-out recruiting process. The Wichita, Kan., native’s decision comes 40 days after National Signing Day. “I felt like [Tennessee] was the school that would prepare me for the next level,” Brown said. Brown verbally committed to Miami before his senior season at Wichita East High School but later considered LSU, Oregon, Kansas State and Miami. The Scout.com No. 1 recruit visited LSU on Feb. 27 and showed interest in joining the Tigers’ highly-ranked 2009 recruiting class, but he ultimately signed with the Volunteers after visiting Knoxville this past weekend. Brown’s finalists were LSU, Tennessee, Oregon, Miami and Kansas State. Brown also said his final two choices were Tennessee and Kansas State. —- Contact Michael Lambert at [email protected]
