LSU’s gymnastics team dropped from No. 6 to No. 11 in the latest polls released on Monday. The Tigers (11-2, 4-2) posted a 196.150 in their victory against Arkansas on Friday night in the PMAC, but the score was well below their Regional Qualifying Sscore season average. LSU now has a team RQS of 196.290, tying the team with Arkansas. But the Tigers have a season average of 195.986, which is below the Gym’Backs’ 196.067, so LSU is one spot behind Arkansas. Georgia remains No. 1 in the nation after posting a national season-high 198.200. LSU’s school record is 197.850. Six Southeastern Conference schools are in the top 11. The Tigers return to action Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. in the second Etta James Memorial Meet against NC State.——Contact Andy Schwehm at [email protected]
