LSU senior diver Niko Dalman is headed to the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships yet again.Dalman grabbed one of 11 spots available at the Zone ‘B’ Diving Championships this weekend in Knoxville, Tenn.The Auburn, Wash., native competed in the NCAAs the past two seasons, earning honorable mention All-American honors both times.The NCAA championships take place March 26-28 in College Station, Texas, at Texas A&M’s Student Rec Center Natatorium.”It’s an accomplishment in itself for Niko to qualify to the NCAA Championships for the third time, which is very exciting and rewarding,” said LSU diving coach Doug Shaffer in a news release. “We’re looking forward to a good final senior campaign in a pool that he’s competed in a number of times.”Dalman is the sixth LSU athlete on the LSU diving team to qualify for the NCAA meet. Dalman will compete in the one-meter, three-meter and platform events at the NCAA championships.”He’s steadily progressed in each competition throughout the season, but he hasn’t peaked, so it’s a good opportunity for him to shine,” Shaffer said.Dalman finished eighth in the preliminaries with a score of 291.60.
