The LSU gymnastics team defeated NC State, 197.150-195.725, on Saturday night in the PMAC. In the very first rotation of the night, senior Ashleigh Clare-Kearney highlighted her final home meet by posting a perfect 10.0 on the vault. The perfect score was the first for any Tiger on any event this season and the fifth of Clare-Kearney’s career. Junior Susan Jackson won the all-around title by posting a career-high score of 39.700. Jackson also posted season highs on the uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise, scoring 9.925, 9.950 and 9.925 respectively. Junior Summer Hubbard also posted a season high the uneven bars, posting a 9.900. The meet marked the second annual Etta James Memorial meet, raising breast cancer awareness through former LSU linebacker and current Dallas Cowboy Bradie James’ Foundation 56. The tigers helped raise $50,171 for Foundation 56. LSU travels to face Centenary next Friday.
