Micaela de Gruy, mass communication and Honors College student, was named the fifth University recipient of the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation, according to a University news release.
“We are proud of Micaela and all of LSU’s Truman Scholars over the past few years,” said LSU Chancellor Michael Martin, according to the release. “This is proof that LSU students are performing at a very high level nationally, and LSU is doing its part as a university committed to excellence in everything it does.”
After graduation, de Gruy intends to pursue a master’s and Ph.D. in social work. She hopes to attend Boston College, and she would like to work for the International Rescue Committee.—-Contact Lindsey Meaux at [email protected]
