There is new trend among computer science majors.
According to the 2007-2008 CRA Taulbee Survey, the national enrollment for computer science majors increased 8.1 percent last year, marking the first increase in computer science enrollment in six years. In addition, the average number of new students majoring in the field is up 9.5 percent from last year.
“People are starting to realize the potential of computer science,” said Sitharama Iyengar, computer science department chairman. “There are many disciplines and opportunities available. It’s much more than just designing web pages.”
