LSU freshman golfer Sang Yi finished one shot off the lead after shooting an even-par 72 at the Schenkel/E-Z Go Invitational in Statesboro, Ga., on Saturday.Florida’s Tim McKenney, North Carolina State’s Matt Hill and Augusta State’s Taylor Floyd finished the day with a one-stroke lead over Yi, who sits in fourth place at 3-under par.The No. 18 Tigers shot a 4-over 292 as a team, leaving them tied for ninth with No. 21 Mississippi at 12-over par.No. 9 Florida and No. 16 South Carolina are tied for the overall team lead at 3-over par. Yi, who finished yesterday’s opening round tied atop the leaderboard with three others after firing a 3-under par 69, will try to become the second Tiger in as many tournaments to bring a title back to Baton Rouge. Sophomore John Peterson won the John Hayt Invitational last month, leading the Tigers to the overall team title. Peterson shoot a 3-under 69, leaving him tied for 56th place. The final round will begin tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.
