LSU junior first baseman/catcher Sean Ochinko was named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Baseball Hitter of the Week, the LSU Athletic Department announced Wednesday. The Parkland, Fla., native hit .500 (10-for-20) in the Tigers’ five games last week with 14 RBI and seven runs scored. Ochinko also hit grand slams in back-to-back games at New Orleans last Tuesday and against Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday. Ochinko is batting .458 on the season with four home runs and 23 RBI.
