T. Gilmour Reeve, the Helen Bessie Silverberg Pliner Professor and chair of the Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education, was elected to the Board of the American Kinesiology Association, according to a University news release. Reeve joined the University in 2008 after serving as the director of strategic planning in the president’s office and as department chair of the department of health, exercise, and sport science at Texas Tech University, according to the release.
The AKA was founded in 2007 with a mission to “see kinesiology mature as a leading discipline in academe,” the release states. “It is an honor to be elected to the Board of AKA,” Reeve said in the release. “The potential for this organization to advance the academic discipline of kinesiology in higher education is great. I look forward to working with others to achieve that goal.”—-Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
