Jim Richardson, director of LSU’s Public Administration Institute and economics professor, was appointed to the Louisiana Coalition for Capital Board of Advisors, according to a University news release.
The LCC focuses on supporting economic development and job creation through long-term access to capital for Louisiana ventures and small business, the release states.
“A major factor in the economic development of any state is the opportunities for new businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs to have access to capital,” Richardson said in the release. “Louisiana has had some success in getting capital for some projects – energy related – but has not been as successful in getting capital to other businesses and entrepreneurs in other industries and commercial endeavors. LCC is an effort to improve the access to capital. It is not an easy task, but it is a necessary task. I am looking forward to working with the other members of the panel.”—-Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
