The LSU men’s golf team has moved up to No. 17 in the Golfweek/Sagarin Performance Index this week, the LSU Athletic Department announced Wednesday
This is the second time this season LSU has made the top 20. The Tigers were No. 20 for the Schenkel/E-Z Go Invitational from March 20-22.
LSU is one of six Southeastern Conference teams in the top 20. No. 1 Georgia, No. 7 Florida, No. 10 Alabama, No. 11 South Carolina and No. 13 Arkansas are the other five SEC teams.
The Tigers also have two of the top 100 players in the nation according to Golfweek — sophomore John Peterson is No. 37, and freshman Sang Yi is No. 85.
LSU has won three tournaments this season, the first time since 2004.
