Sophomore golfer John Peterson (6-over 222), freshman Sang Yi (7-over 223) and sophomore Andrew Loupe (8-over 224) finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, to give the No. 25 LSU men’s golf team the win at the Reunion Intercollegiate in Madison, Miss.
Peterson has now finished third in his last two tournaments.
Sophomore Clayton Rotz also finished in seventh (9-over 225), giving the Tigers four top-10 finishers.
LSU saved its best day for last, shooting a 5-over 293 to give the team a final three-round total of 25-over 889.
LSU was tied in first place after the first round of play and stayed in first after all three rounds. The Tigers finished with a three-stroke lead ahead of No. 19 Arkansas – the same spot they were in going into the final round.
Southeastern Conference rivals Vanderbilt (36-over 900), No. 30 Ole Miss (38-over 902) and Auburn (53-over 917) finished third, fourth and sixth, respectively.
The Tigers’ next tournament, the SEC Championships, take place April 17-19 at St. Simons Island, Ga.
