Former LSU linebacker Darry Beckwith has signed with the San Diego Chargers, according to SDboltreport.com, an affiliate of Scout.com.Beckwith racked up 188 tackles and two interceptions in his college career at LSU. His second career interception helped seal LSU’s 21-14 win against Tennessee in the 2007 Southeastern Conference Championship Game.The 6-foot-1, 232-pound linebacker was named a second-team All-SEC selection by The Associated Press in 2008. He missed three games last season because of injuries.The Baton Rouge native joins former teammate and wide receiver Demetrius Byrd in San Diego.Byrd was drafted in the seventh round by the Chargers on Sunday, one week after being involved in a car accident in Miami.
