NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The sponsor of the New Orleans Bowl has signed a three-year renewal, extending its commitment through 2011, organizers of the annual football game said Tuesday.
Terms of the agreement with R+L Carriers were not disclosed.
the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation said the 2009 game will be played Dec. 20 at the Louisiana Superdome and will be telecast on ESPN.
The game matches the Sun Belt Conference champion against a Conference USA opponent.
The New Orleans Bowl is one of three postseason bowls played annually in Louisiana. The others are the Independence Bowl in Shreveport and the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
ESPN’s telecast of the New Orleans Bowl is set for 7:15 p.m. CST.
