BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Pinnacle Entertainment has received a 150-day delay in timelines to construct and complete new riverboat casino projects in Lake Charles and Baton Rouge.
On Tuesday, Pinnacle officials told the Louisiana Gaming Control Board that although the company is in much better shape in credit markets than many of its competitors, interest rates are still too high for the Louisiana projects to work.
Las Vegas-based Pinnacle wants to add a second riverboat resort in Lake Charles and join the competitive fray in Baton Rouge, which already has two gambling boats.
The board approved the delays without objection.—-Contact The Daily Reveille news staff at [email protected]
