Running backs Keiland Williams and Richard Murphy ran well in LSU’s second scrimmage in Tiger Stadium on Thursday, coach Les Miles said.
Miles said Murphy ran six times for 50 yards, and he said the team needs Williams “to be the guy.”
“He had a run today that looked different than I had seen from him around here,” Miles said. “He may well have stepped it up a little.”
Miles said both sophomore quarterbacks, Jarrett Lee and Jordan Jefferson, threw a touchdown pass. Jefferson opened the game with a touchdown pass to sophomore wide receiver DeAngelo Peterson.
