The LSU men’s tennis team will begin the 2009 Southeastern Conference tournament in Auburn, Ala., Thursday as the No. 8 seed.
The Tigers (9-10, 4-7) face No. 9 South Carolina Thursday at 11 a.m.
LSU beat the Gamecocks, 5-1, on the road April 5.
The LSU women’s tennis team (13-9, 3-7) is the No. 10 seed in women’s SEC tournament in Fayetteville, Ark. LSU’s first matchup is Thursday against No. 7 Ole Miss at 12:30 p.m.
The Lady Tigers faced Ole Miss on April 10 and lost, 5-2, in Oxford, Miss.
Both the men’s and women’s championship matches will be played Sunday.
Last season, the Tigers and Lady Tigers won their first-round matches at the SEC tournament before the men’s team lost to Tennessee and the women’s team lost to Arkansas.
