LSU sophomore women’s golfer Megan McChrystal was named to the All-Southeastern Conference First Team, the LSU Athletic Department announced Thursday.
McChrystal is the first Lady Tiger to make the first team since Melissa Eaton in 2005. She joins Eaton and Meredith Duncan as the only sophomores in school history to earn first-team honors.
The Stuart, Fla., native has won two tournaments this season and has a stroke average of 72.5 in 22 rounds, putting her on pace to break Duncan’s school record of 73.12 in 2002.
LSU also picked up two nominations on the SEC All-Freshman Team — Tessa Teachman and Jacqueline Hedwall.
Auburn swept the top two honors, with Candace Schepperle SEC Golfer of the Year and coach Kim Evans winning SEC Coach of the Year.
