BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Louisiana legislator wants a ban on the use of hand-held cell phones while driving.
State Rep. Austin Badon failed when he tried to get lawmakers to approve a similar bill last year. The Legislature instead banned driving while text messaging.
The New Orleans Democrat has filed another handheld cell phone ban this year. The bill says a motorist caught driving while using such a phone should face a maximum fine of $100.
