LSU defensive back Phelon Jones will transfer, LSU coach Les Miles said Friday in a news release.
Jones will finish the spring semester at LSU before leaving, according to the release.
The Mobile, Ala., native played in nine games with two starts last season. He compiled 15 tackles, with 12 coming in wins against Troy and North Texas.
Jones had just finished his redshirt freshman season.
