Students from the School of Art recently created a 10-by-15-foot mural for the main entrance of the International School of Louisiana. The mural represents New Orleans by displaying images of saxophones, musical notes, a street car, Spanish and French flags and foreign phrases. The project was a collaborative effort between the School of Art’s Graphic Design Student Association and the student chapter of the American Institute for Graphic Arts. Last year, Allison Dugas, art senior, received a $500 grant from the New Orleans AIGA chapter for the project, but Alonzo Felix picked up the project when Dugas graduated.—–Contact Leslie Presnall at [email protected]
