NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is thrilled that some of the biggest names in rock and roll have agreed to come together for a concert that will benefit his children’s foundation.
Little Richard, Chuck Berry and others are set to perform May 30 at the New Orleans Arena in a fundraising event for the Brees Dream Foundation’s “Operation Kids.” Since 2007, the program has contributed more than $1.5 million for improvements in the city’s parks and schools.
The May 30 concert is being called “The Domino Effect” because Richard, Berry and other artists will be performing songs previously recorded by New Orleans native Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performer Fats Domino. Domino, who is 81, has been invited to attend the concert but will not be performing.
