Rep. Ernest Wooton, R-Belle Chase, delayed action on his college concealed carry bill today, after some House members asked him to postpone the debate because of a recent school shooting in Larose on Monday.
House Bill 27 would allow the concealed carry of firearms on college campuses for students, faculty and staff with a state license. Wooton said he will bring the bill back up for debate next week.
Wooton said the week delay will allow him to gain support for the bill.
