LSU defensive lineman Charles Alexander has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA, the Athletic Department announced Wednesday.
Alexander played only one game in 2005 and missed 11 of 14 games in 2007 because of injuries. He played in 13 games in 2008 with eight starts, recording 24 tackles and one sack.
“We are very happy that the NCAA ruled in favor of Charles,” said LSU football coach Les Miles in a news release. “He deserved to get the chance to play another season at the collegiate level. He will be a big part of our defense next year so we’re glad to get him back.”
