New Orleans is bidding to host the 2013 Super Bowl, Neworleanssaints.com writer Douglas Miller reported Wednesday.
New Orleans last hosted a Super Bowl in 2002, when the New England Patriots beat the St. Louis Rams, 20-17, in Super Bowl XXXVI.
New Orleans has hosted nine Super Bowls — six in the Superdome and three in old Tulane Stadium.
Miami has also hosted nine Super Bowls and will host the 2010 Super Bowl. Arlington, Texas, and Indianapolis will host the 2011 and 2012 Super Bowls, respectively.
