LSU has hired Don Yanowsky as its new tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator, the LSU athletic department announced today.The position opened up when Josh Henson left LSU to be the co-offensive line coach at Missouri.Yanowsky’s most recent stint was at Boston College, where he spent two seasons as the Eagles’ tight ends and special teams coach. He has been a collegiate coach for 20 years.Boston College tight ends under Yanowsky’s direction combined to catch 73 passes for 719 yards and five touchdowns in 2007 and 34 receptions for 269 yards and two scores in 2008. LSU coach Les Miles said he is thrilled to have a coach with Yanowsky’s experience on and off the field.”He’s a tremendous recruiter who has been involved in recruiting the Houston area all the way to Florida,” Miles said in a news release. “He’s a veteran in terms of recruiting battles and he’ll bring tremendous energy and innovation to the position of recruiting coordinator for us.”
