Every day, students rely on the buses to get to campus, and for many its part of their daily routine. But recently some students have been left confused by the buses.
Last week some buses on the Highland-Burbank line failed to stop at the University Crescent apartment complex; a complex the buses have stopped at previously on a regular schedule.
Friday afternoon some students were warned while loading the bus that it would not be stopping at University Crescent and only in front of the Burbank Commons apartment complex, the complex next to University Crescent. However other bus drivers continued to drop off at University Crescent.
“I have not heard anything about University Crescent being removed,” said Noah Miller, student government director of transportation. “There has not been any paperwork filed to have the stop removed.”
On the Tiger Trails website, University Crescent is listed as an official stop and it is also listed on the bus drivers list of official stops. The confusion however is being caused by the lack of an LSU bus stop sign in front of the complex.
“If there is no bus sign outside a stop then it’s not an official stop and buses do not have to stop there,” Miller said.
Not only do buses not need to stop anywhere there is not a stop but they are being told not to.
“Bus drivers are cracking down about stopping to pick students up anywhere that does not have a bus stop sign,” Miller said.
Students have been confused over whether or not the bus will pick up in front of University Crescent.
Frank Lee, a kinesiology sophomore, said the confusion has caused him to walk to Burbank Commons every morning, worried that the bus won’t stop at his complex.
“I’ve been late to class because the bus didn’t stop at University Crescent one morning and I had to wait for the next one,” Lee said.
