TIGER TV STAFF REPORTS
Junior running back Richard Murphy told Tiger TV today that he will try to get a medical redshirt from the NCAA for this season due to a severe injury that sidelined him earlier in the season.
Murphy said that the team didn’t “actually apply for it yet,” but he did say that they may be “trying to get it” after the season is complete.
“I’ve been feeling good, I mean I’m still working out,” Murphy said. “I’m way ahead of schedule, so it’s looking good.”
With the medical redshirt, Murphy would be able to extend his NCAA eligibility and play for an extra 5th year.
Murphy injured his right knee in the Tigers’ game against Vanderbilt in September.
Murphy has rushed for 432 total yards and 2 touchdowns in his career at LSU.
