Though the Department of Health and Hospitals expected to deliver H1N1 vaccines to the University two weeks ago, the Student Health Center still does not have them.
Julie Hupperich, associate director of the Health Center, said the clinic turned in a distribution plan to the DHH. She said the last contact the DHH had with the Health Center was to confirm they received the plan.
Hupperich said the vaccines could arrive any day now, though she said the delivery may not be until next week.
Southern University and Nicholls State University received vaccine deliveries this week.
“We’re hoping that this is a sign they’re distributing them to higher education institutions now,” Hupperich said.
