LSU football coach Les Miles said Monday sophomore quarterback Jordan Jefferson will be back at practice after suffering a right ankle injury Saturday against Alabama.
“Jordan Jefferson it appears is going to be fine,” Miles said. “We expect him with us this week.”
Miles said sophomore cornerback Patrick Peterson is fine after being taken off the field three times with cramps Saturday. He also said said senior tight end Richard Dickson, who did not start against Alabama, will be back at practice “sometime this week.”
The LSU Athletic Department announced Sunday that senior running back Charles Scott is out for the season after fracturing his clavicle. Miles said there is a long shot he could return for LSU’s bowl game.
“I don’t know exactly the length of time that will take to rehabilitate,” Miles said. “I’m probably just being hopeful he’ll be available for the bowl game. We miss him — we miss his runs and his toughness, and we also miss him as a person.”
LSU will next face Louisiana Tech on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in Tiger Stadium followed by a Southeastern Conference showdown against Ole Miss at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 21.
