Becky White, of the AgCenter’s Cooperative Extension Service, received the Louisiana Children’s Trust Fund’s Judge Richard Ware Award for her outstanding achievements in bettering the lives of Louisiana children this afternoon.
White has developed many programs during her 30-year career, including the Character Critters Program, which donated more than 114,000 storybooks to children across the state.
Other initiatives White spearheaded include programs like the Earl K. Long Born to be a Reader, Take a Break with Your Kid and the The Little Bookshelf program, according to a news release.
The Judge Richard Ware Award is awarded annually to an individuals who works in child abuse and neglect prevention.
