NEW ORLEANS (AP) — More speed-tracking cameras are going up in New Orleans.
The city says that at the request of schools and community groups, it’s installed 14 new cameras to catch speeders in school zones.
The cameras are meant to enforce the 20 mph speed limit during school-zone hours. Drivers going at least 6 mph over limit will get a citation, beginning Monday. After those hours, the cameras are to enforce the normal speed limit, with drivers going at least 10 miles per hour over that posted limit getting a citation.
